The latex-containing, non-sterile RUDD rubber ligature rings from B. Braun werespecially designed for the treatment of haemorrhoids. It is usuallyinserted as part of a surgical procedure. The rubber band is placed around the base of the haemorrhoid,gently cutting off the blood supply. The haemorrhoid then shrinks and dies.
